A Welcome to Spring:
"Lobbest then thou thine bait
so alluring that she,
who awaits in darkness,
delayest not but strikes."
Spring brings such wonderful color and life to our existence here on earth. It makes makes me break out in poetry. (My apologies to Monty Python.)
New from RedShad.com

I'm pleased to announce the addition of a new bait called the SkippyFiSH! This soft jerk has an turbo-charged action great for skipping under docks or overhanging trees. The perfect follow-up bait for missed topwater strikes. Every bass caught on the SkippyFiSH will prove it's no fluke!

The SkippyFiSH is available in 6" and 4" versions. Rig it weightless on a Texas Rig or add a small amount of weight by using a 1/16oz or 1/8oz Toad Toter hook.

Try adding a touch of chartreuse with a Spike It Scent Marker. This is sexy stuff!
A Wacky Tip or Two:
Over the last few seasons I have been successful using wacky finesse techniques. I am always looking for new ways to expand these techniques towards heavier tackle. Here is a comparison of my finesse and power rigs:
Finesse Wacky Rig:

7' Shimano Drop Shot Rod
Quantum Tour Edition PTi30 Spinning Reel
8# INVIZX Fluorocarbon Line or 15# PowerPro Braid
1/16 or 1/8 oz. Little Pek Shake wacky jig
Wacky-rigged Zoom Centipede, Double Ringer or Fish Dr.
Power Wacky Rig:
7' MH Fast Rolan Martin Tournament Grade Rod
Quantum Tour Edition 7.0:1 Burner Reel
15# INVIZX Fluorocarbon Line
1/4 oz. Skinny Bear Signature Pro Jig
Wacky-rigged 5" Wacko or Senko
The short shank and compact silhouette of the Signature Pro Jig makes it a sweet little jig to wacky rig a Wacko! Pitch this little rig into flooded brush or work it through a tree top. It's a different look and can be deadly! I fully expect this to be a winner next week when I fish a BFL tournament on the Ohio River! - Sorry, I can't help myself. I'm fired up and can't help allowing my confidence to show. Besides, I like the added pressure. :)
One other wacky tip:
Use TWO o-rings on the Wacko, crossed and hooked under the X as shown here. Or the alternative, buy plenty of Wacko's!
